Michigan Interscholastic Volleyball Coaches Association

What to Expect as a Board Member

Voting for MIVCA Board seats takes place at the General Membership Meeting held during our annual Coaches Clinic. Members do not need to be present at the clinic to run for a board position. There are four board seats open for this term.

MIVCA is a working board. Board members are expected to actively participate in meetings, serve on committees, and contribute to the ongoing work of the association. Committee and subcommittee meetings will take place outside of scheduled board meetings and are a required part of board service.

The first mandatory meeting for newly elected board members is the organizational meeting, which takes place on the final day of the Coaches Clinic and runs until 8:00 pm.

Board members serve with the shared purpose of advancing and supporting volleyball across the state.

MIVCA’s purpose is to serve and support Michigan interscholastic volleyball coaches by providing education, resources, and recognition to enhance growth and impact on student athletes.

We value committed leaders who are willing to invest time, energy, and collaboration to serve our coaches and strengthen the sport of volleyball in Michigan.

Join Our board

MIVCA is always open to new ideas and coaches who want to join our board or a subcommittee. This is a great chance to get involved, help make decisions and continue to move volleyball forward in our state. Our board meets about 5-6 times a year (most are virtual). We work together to see that post season awards are completed, all-state athletes are recognized and the Miss Volleyball award is handed out. We also organize the website and emails as well as events such as the MHSAA State Tournament and the annual MIVCA Coaches Clinic and so much more!

If you have any questions regarding the board positions please send us a message.
