Summary: To help each participating student to achieve a high level of skill, an understanding of the strategies of the game, an appreciation for the values of discipline, sportsmanship and teamwork, and an increased level of self-esteem.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Other duties may be assigned.
Coach individuals in the skills and techniques necessary for the excellent achievement in the sport involved.
Teach sound and updated strategies of the game.
Assists in planning and scheduling all practices.
Assists in out of season programs.
Oversees the safety conditions of the facility or area assigned to the sport for practices and contests.
Maintains accurate statistics, records, and results of the season.
Enforces discipline and sportsmanlike behavior at all times, and establishes and oversees penalties for breach of such standards.
Assist in establishing a fair set of behavior standards in developing team and training rules.
Maintains competency in knowledge of the rules and interpretations, contest procedures, and general information about all aspects of the sport.
Follows all rules concerning state and district guidelines concerning student academic eligibility.
Is competent in CPR and basic First Aid and works with the training staff to develop a sound program of injury prevention and follow up.
Develops a consistent and positive public communications procedure through the school and the media to inform the community about the athletic program.
Support and uphold the District Student Conduct Code.
Attends all necessary meetings on the state, conference, and department level.
Responsible for any delegated assignment given by the varsity head coach

Varsity volleyball coaching experience preferred.
DUTIES: Responsibilities include coaching the varsity team and overseeing the entire volleyball program, including JV, middle school teams and youth. The coach designs training plans, conducts practices, and manages game strategies to develop student-athletes’ skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Key duties also include assisting with contest scheduling, organizing and leading a youth volleyball program, supervising and evaluating sub-varsity coaches, communicating with parents, and fostering a positive team culture.
